You'll need powered speakers, headphones, and one of the following devices that stores music files:

・ A USB device (USB flash drive or HDD/SSD).
・ A mobile device running rekordbox.
・ A PC/Mac running a DJ application that the XDJ-RX3 supports.

Q2 Can I connect the unit to a hi-fi system, an amplifier or a powered speaker?: A2

Check whether the speaker/device you're planning to use has an external input terminal. If it has one, you can connect it to the unit.

*Bluetooth speakers can’t be used due to latency (audio delay).
*If you’re using a home theater amplifier, you might experience audio delay due to audio processing in the amplifier.

Q3 Can I play tracks stored on my mobile device using the XDJ-RX3?: A3

You can play tracks on the XDJ-RX3 if they're imported to rekordbox for iOS.
Note: You can’t play tracks from rekordbox for Android because currently the unit doesn't support the app.

You can use Mobile Library Sync and Cloud Library Sync to transfer tracks from your PC/Mac and the cloud to rekordbox for iOS so you can play them on the unit.

*Tracks from streaming services can't be played on the XDJ-RX3.

Q4 What are the types and specifications of devices that can be connected to the USB Type-A terminal?: A4

You can connect the following devices:

■ USB device
You can connect a USB flash drive or portable hard disk.
The supported file systems are FAT16, FAT32, exFAT, and HFS+.
*There is no limit to the memory size of the device.
*The compatibility of portable CD players is not guaranteed.

Q5 Does the XDJ-RX3 come with license keys to activate rekordbox or Serato DJ Pro?: A5

The unit is a Hardware Unlock device for rekordbox (ver. 6), so you can use the Core Plan for free while your computer is connected to the XDJ-RX3. You don't need a license key.
You can also use Serato DJ Pro for free while your computer is connected to the XDJ-RX3.

How to install
Download the latest driver software from [here].
Be sure to close all DJ applications, disconnect the XDJ-RX3 from your computer, and then install the driver software.

How to uninstall
■ Windows
1. Open Control Panel > [Programs and Features]
　(Or open [Settings] > [Apps]).
2. Select [XDJ_RX3 Driver] driver software and uninstall it.
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

■ Mac
1. Download the latest version of the driver software [here].
2. Open the downloaded dmg file and double-click on [XDJ-RX3 Driver Uninstaller].
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Q10 What's firmware and how do I update it?: A10

Firmware is a program inside the unit. New features, support for DJ applications, and bug fixes etc. will be added to the unit when you update the firmware to the latest version. This is why we recommend you always use the latest version.

If you're using a PC/Mac that only has a USB Type-C port, you'll need a USB Type-C (plug) to USB Type-A (socket) conversion cable (sold separately).
When using one of these cables, be sure it's a product recommended by the manufacturer of your PC/Mac.

Q13 Can I connect the unit to a PC/Mac via a USB hub?: A13

You should connect the unit directly to a USB port on the PC/Mac.
Connecting via a USB hub may cause unwanted noise or malfunction.
If you have to use a USB hub due to a limited number of USB ports on your PC/Mac, be sure to use a product recommended by the manufacturer of your PC/Mac.
