- Q1 What is required besides the DDJ-XP1 for DJ performances?

DDJ-XP1 is an add-on controller supporting the rekordbox dj DJ application from Pioneer DJ.
A DJ system supporting rekordbox dj and consisting of the equipment below is required.-Computer on which rekordbox dj is installed
-DJ mixer or DJ controller for which rekordbox dj can be authenticated
-Powered speakers (or an amplifier and speakers)
-HeadphonesNet Number : 2 - Q2 Do you plan on marketing a stand specifically for the DDJ-XP1?

Yes. We plan to release one at the end of November 2017.
Net Number : 3 - Q3 Is it possible to use this unit as a general purpose MIDI controller and to operate MIDI-compatible DJ software other than rekordbox dj?

When using the unit in combination with MIDI-compatible DJ software other than rekordbox dj, you need to configure the mapping settings yourself. For details on the MIDI assignment for each button and pad of the unit, check the Pioneer DJ support page.

The standard driver software included in OS is used, so there is no need to install the driver software.

This unit cannot be used via a USB hub. Connect it directly to a computer using the included USB cable.
Net Number : 12 - Q6 Is there a specific order for connecting the DDJ-XP1's USB cable and launching rekrodbox dj? Can either be done first?

The following procedure is recommended.
*Install the driver software for the device with a sound card function in advance as necessary.
1. Connect the device with a sound card function to your computer via a USB cable.
2. Turn on the power of the computer.
3. Turn on the power of the device with a sound card function.
4. Launch rekordbox.
5. Connect this unit to your computer via a USB cable.Net Number : 15 - Q7 Is an Internet environment (connection) required?

An Internet connection environment is necessary to download the rekordbox dj and rekrodbox dvs Software, and to upgrade it to the latest version.

Such computers are not supported. Use a computer with the recommended specifications or better.

This unit can be used in combination with rerkodbox dj / rekordbox dvs -compatible DJ players, DJ mixers and integrated DJ controllers, but it can be used to its best advantage by adding it to a DVS system centered on the DJM-S9.

Operation is not guaranteed when two DDJ-XP1 units are connected to a single computer.
Net Number : 29 - Q11 Can an FX unit of Traktor be controlled like Slide FX of rekordbox dj?

Yes. The following shows the example of assigning the MIDI of Slide FX on the left side of the unit to FX unit 1 of Traktor.
1. Open the [Preferences] window in Traktor and select [Controller Manager].
2. Set Device to [Generic MIDI] and set In-Port and Out-Port to [DDJ-XP1].
3. Click [Add In...], select [FX Unit] > [Knob 1] from the pull-down menu, and set Device Mapping to [Ch05.CC.002].
4. Set Type of Controller to [Fader/Knob], Interaction Mode to [Direct], and Assignment to [FX Unit 1].
5. Click [Add In...], select [FX Unit] > [Knob 2] from the pull-down menu, and set Device Mapping to [Ch05.CC.003].
6. Set Type of Controller to [Fader/Knob], Interaction Mode to [Direct], and Assignment to [FX Unit 1].
7. Click [Add In...], select [FX Unit] > [Knob 3] from the pull-down menu, and set Device Mapping to [Ch05.CC.004].
8. Set Type of Controller to [Fader/Knob], Interaction Mode to [Direct], and Assignment to [FX Unit 1].
9. Click [Add In...], select [FX Unit] > [Button 1] from the pull-down menu, and set Device Mapping to [Ch05.Note.B4].
10. Set Type of Controller to [Button], Interaction Mode to [Toggle], and Assignment to [FX Unit 1].
11. Click [Add In...], select [FX Unit] > [Button 2] from the pull-down menu, and set Device Mapping to [Ch05.Note.C5].
12. Set Type of Controller to [Button], Interaction Mode to [Toggle], and Assignment to [FX Unit 1].
