FAQ
- Q1 No sound is output from my speakers. Why not?
-
A1
1. The power may not be turned on properly. If the white LED on the speaker is turned off, check that the main power switch on the back of the unit is turned on.
2.The Auto Standby function may be activated. If no audio signal is input for a certain period of time, the white LED on the unit turns off and the unit enters Standby mode. When an audio signal is input, the white LED lights up and the power is automatically turned on. Check that an audio signal is being input. (The Auto Standby function can't be disabled.)
3. The volume level may be set to minimum. Adjust the volume level to the appropriate level.
Net Number : 7 - Q2 Why is sound from my speakers affected by distortion or clipping?
-
A2
The audio input level may be too high.
Adjust the output level of the connected device or adjust the [LEVEL] knob on the front panel of the speaker so the volume is set to the appropriate level.
Net Number : 8 - Q3 Why is the sound level low when I connect a device to the TRS input terminals?
-
A3
Have you connected a device with unbalanced output? The TRS input terminals only support balanced inputs. Instead, connect a device that supports balanced output.
To connect a device with unbalanced output, use the RCA inputs or the stereo mini-jack input.Net Number : 10 - Q4 I can't establish a Bluetooth connection to the DM-50D-BT speakers. Why not?
-
A4
The problem may be caused by one of the following issues:
1.The Bluetooth function on the connected Bluetooth device is not turned on.
-> Turn on the Bluetooth function on the device.2. The speakers and the Bluetooth device aren't paired.
-> You need to pair the speakers and the Bluetooth device.
Press and hold the Pairing button for 2 seconds or longer to enter Pairing mode. The LED flashes repeatedly.
Then, perform the pairing procedure on the Bluetooth device.
For details, see the Instruction Manual > [Pairing and connection procedure].You can read the Instruction Manual [here].
3. The unit is connected to the last connected device.
-> If you press the Pairing button, the unit is automatically connected to the last connected device.
If you want to use another Bluetooth device, you'll need to unpair the last connected device and then pair the new one.4. The surrounding environment affects the connection.
-> Check there are no devices (microwave ovens, wireless devices, etc.) that generate electromagnetic waves in 2.4 GHz band, or an obstacle that blocks radio waves, near to the speakers.
Move the speakers closer to the Bluetooth device (no more than 10 meters away).Net Number : 16 - Q5 I can't pair the DM-50D-BT speakers with my Bluetooth device. Why not?
-
A5
Follow these steps until you establish a connection:
1. Make sure the device supports a Bluetooth connection.
-> Pairing isn't possible with unsupported devices.2. Check that the Bluetooth function of the device is enabled.
-> If not, enable it.3. Make sure that no other device is connected to the speakers via Bluetooth.
-> If another device is connected, disable the Bluetooth function of the connected device.4. Reboot the Bluetooth device.
-> After rebooting, perform the pairing procedure from the beginning.Net Number : 17 - Q6 How can I perform/cancel Bluetooth pairing with the DM-50D-BT speakers?
-
A6
[Pairing procedure]
1. Turn on the power for the speakers.
2. Follow the pairing instructions on the Bluetooth device while the Pairing indicator on the speaker is flashing.
*You may need to refer to the instruction manual of the Bluetooth device.
Note: If the Pairing indicator on the speaker is turned off, press the Pairing button for at least 2 seconds until it starts flashing (Pairing mode).
3. Pairing is complete when the Pairing indicator is lit.[Canceling procedure]
Following the instructions of the Bluetooth device, cancel the pairing of the speakers via the Bluetooth setting on the device.
*You may need to refer to the instruction manual of the Bluetooth device.Net Number : 18 - Q7 I previously connected a device to the DM-50D-BT speakers via Bluetooth, but now I can't connect it again. How do I reconnect?
-
A7
Follow the steps below:
1. Turn on the Bluetooth function on the Bluetooth device.
2. Follow the instructions for the Bluetooth device to make it 'forget' the speakers, then pair them again.*You may need to refer to the instruction manual of the Bluetooth device.
Net Number : 19 - Q8 No sound is output when the DM-50D-BT speakers and a device are connected via Bluetooth. Why not?
-
A8
Check the following:
1. The paired device is playing music.
2. The volume is turned up to a reasonable level on the speakers and the paired device.Net Number : 20 - Q9 The sound from the DM-50D-BT speakers is interrupted, or unwanted noise can be heard when they're connected to a device via Bluetooth. Why?
-
A9
The problem may be caused by one of the following:
1. An obstacle is blocking radio waves between the speakers and the Bluetooth device.
-> If there are walls etc. between the speakers and the device, communication will be affected. Move the speakers and the connected Bluetooth device close to each other so the sound isn't interrupted.2. The load on the Bluetooth device is too heavy.
-> Close applications you're not using on the Bluetooth device to reduce load. If you use a Bluetooth device such as a smartphone, tablet, or laptop and it's running multiple applications, the load on the device will be heavy.3. Electromagnetic waves from a microwave oven etc.
-> Do not use equipment such as a microwave oven, wireless LAN router, or cordless phone that generate electromagnetic waves in 2.4 GHz band near the speakers. If they're used nearby, they may interfere with Bluetooth communication.4. The application you're using.
Depending on the app you're using, the sound may be cut off when you turn on/off the smartphone screen. If this happens, try another application or change the settings so the smartphone screen doesn't turn off.Net Number : 21 - Q10 Audio is delayed between my Bluetooth device and the DM-50D-BT speakers. Why?
-
A10
When using Bluetooth, audio latency (delay) can't be avoided due to the nature of wireless communication. Latency varies depending on the audio codec. Compared to SBC and AAC, aptX and aptX Low Latency have a lower amount of delay.
