- Q1 What can I do by connecting this unit and a computer by USB?

DJ performances can be conducted using DJ software and tracks can be created, recorded, etc. This unit is compatible with two interfaces: the "USB sound card function" for input/output of digital audio signals with a computer, and the "MIDI interface function" synchronizing the operation of buttons and controls.

Settings must be made on this unit and on the computer beforehand.
When using in combination with the sound device of another unit, the preparations in "1" below are not necessary, but in principle we recommend using this unit's built-in sound card.1. To use the USB sound card function
First, the dedicated driver software must be installed on the computer. For instructions on installing the driver software and details on operations with the USB sound card (audio interface) function, see "Connecting to the control panel" in this unit's operating instructions. For the settings on the DJ software, see your DJ software's operating instructions.
2. Using the USB-MIDI interface function

With any of these standards, the dedicated driver software must be installed using the "Driver Software" CD-ROM included with this unit.Windows

Normal operation is not guaranteed in this case. We strongly recommend connecting only this unit to the computer's USB port when using this unit.

Yes.
This unit outputs MIDI signals synchronized with operation of buttons and controls, so it can be used to control DJ software on the computer connected to the USB port or MIDI-compatible devices (external MIDI sequencers, etc.) connected to the MIDI OUT (DIN) terminal. In order to use the MIDI functions, in addition to cable connections, settings must also be made on the respective devices. For instructions on making the MIDI output settings, see "Operating DJ software using the MIDI function" and "Operating an external MIDI sequencer" in this unit's operating instructions. With DJS, this unit's USB sound card (audio interface) function can be used, but DJS control using this unit's MIDI control function is not possible (because DJS is not MIDI-compatible). Use the mouse, keyboard, etc., to operate DJS.

At the "Execute file" dialog on the Start menu, input "mmsys.cpl" and press "OK". An audio settings window opens. At the [Sound Playback] audio tab, select "Pioneer DJM-900nexus". Input the signal to this unit's channel 1. Signals cannot be input to other channels.
*This cannot be used at the same time as an ASIO driver.Mac OS
At the [Output] tab at [System Preferences] -> [Sound], select "Audio output device", then select "DJM-900nexus" from the sound devices. The output channels to this unit can be changed by selecting "DJM-900nexus" at [Audio MIDI Settings] under [Applications] -> [Utilities] then using the [Configure Speakers ...] dialog.Net Number : 49 - Q9 I do not want to output the sound of the computer's program events (warning sounds, etc.). At the "System Preferences" – "Sound" panel, set the sound effect playing device to something other than DJM-900nexus.Net Number : 50 - Q10 I use the TRAKTOR SCRATCH series. I have installed this unit's dedicated driver software successfully on the computer and made the channel settings with the Settings Utility software. There is no problem with MIDI control or the audio output, but I can't scratch with the Control CD or Control Vinyl functions.

This unit is "TRAKTOR SCRATCH Certified". Those using versions of TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO/DUO earlier than Ver. 1.2.7 can scratch with the Control CD or Control Vinyl functions by upgrading to TRAKTOR SCRATCH PRO 2/DUO 2 for a fee. For details, refer to the Native Instruments website.
