Are the power cord and the AC adaptor connected properly?
Connect the power cord and the AC adapter included in the box properly to the outlet.Net Number : 19 - Q2 A button indicator(s) is/are lit but nothing appears on the display.

Please check the two possible causes below:
1. Isn't the screen saver working?
Operate any control or button.
You can change the screen saver setting at the [GLOBAL SETTING] screen. For details, please see "Changing the unit settings ([GLOBAL SETTING])" in the Operating Instructions of this unit.

Turn off the unit and turn it on again without pressing any button other than the power button.Net Number : 20 - Q3 No sound or low sound.

Please check the two possible causes below:
1. Is the [VOLUME] control on the control panel set in the proper position?
Touch the keyboard on the top panel and turn the [VOLUME] knob to adjust the volume.2. Are the controls/knobs on the top panel and the level or volume of each category/parameter set properly?
The tone of the sound will defer on this unit depending on the positions of controls/knobs and the settings of each category/parameter. So sound may not be heard or low depending of the positions or settings.
Please follow the instructions below to solve this problem.
-Turn the [PROGRAM/BANK] control to switch the program. By switching the program, all settings will be automatically back to proper default settings for each program.
-Properly set the positions of controls/knobs on the top panel and the settings of each category/parameter. Please note that controls/knobs on the top panel hugely impact the tone of the sound.Net Number : 21 - Q4 Sound distortion occurs.

There are four possible causes:
1. Is a MIDI cable properly connected?
Connect the MIDI OUT of an external device and the [MIDI IN] terminal of this unit using a MIDI cable properly.2. Is the MIDI clock sent from an external MIDI device?
Make sure that an external MIDI device as a master.
To set sync of an external MIDI device, see its manual.3. Set [MIDI Clock Mode] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] screen as [Slave], [Slave Thru] or [Slave No S/S].
As for the sequencer operation at each setting, please see "Changing the unit settings ([GLOBAL SETTING])" in the Operating Instructions of this unit.

There are four possible causes.
1. Is a MIDI cable properly connected?
Connect an external MIDI device and [MIDI OUT/THRU] or [MIDI IN] terminal of this unit using a MIDI cable properly.2. Is a USB cable properly connected?
Connect a Windows PC/Mac and the [USB-B] terminal of this unit directly using a USB 2.0 compliant cable.3. Is [MIDI SysEx Cable] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu properly set?
Set [MIDI SysEx Cable] to [MIDI Port] or [USB] which sends and receives SysEx data.4. Is [MIDI Out Select] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu properly set?
Set [MIDI Out Select] to [MIDI Port] or [USB] which sends and receives SysEx data.Net Number : 35 - Q9 Tuning is off.

There are three possible causes.
1. Is [Master Coarse] or [Master Fine] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu properly set?
Set [Mater Coarse] and [Master Fine] as [0].2. Did you perform calibration?
Perform calibration by selecting [Calibrate] at the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu at least ten minutes after the unit has been turned on.3. Are you touching the slider? Is the [LATCH] button turned on while you are touching?
Turn off the [LATCH] button and take your fingers off from the slider.
Depending on slider destination setting, pitch may change when you are touching the slider or the [LATCH] button is turned on while you are touching the slider.Net Number : 36 - Q10 Keyboard operation is unstable. — Sound comes out even if you do not touch the keyboard. — The range where sound comes out is narrow.

There are two possible causes.
1. Is [Keys Sens] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu set properly?
Set [Keys Sens] to a proper value.
The TORAIZ AS-1’s keyboard is an electrostatic capacitive touch pad. You can adjust the keyboard touch sensitivity to a player using this setting. Depending on the setting, however, the keyboard may not respond properly.2. Haven’t you pressed the power button on the rear panel while touching any keyboard key or the slider?
Turn off the unit and turning it on again by pressing the power button without touching any keyboard key nor slider.
The TORAIZ AS-1’s keyboard is an electrostatic capacitive touch pad and calibration for the keyboard touch sensitivity is performed when you turn on the unit. If you turn on the power while touching any keyboard key or slider, calibration may not be correctly performed and the unit may not work properly.Net Number : 38 - Q11 Why doesn’t my DAW software respond even when I use the TORAIZ AS-1?

There are three possible causes.
1. Is a MIDI cable properly connected?
Connect an audio interface or MIDI interface plugged in to a Windows PC/Mac
and the [MIDI] terminal of this unit using a MIDI cable properly.2. Is a USB cable properly connected?
Connect a Windows PC/Mac and the [USB-B] terminal of this unit directly using a USB 2.0 compliant cable.3. Is [MIDI Out Select] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu properly set?
Set [MIDI Out Select] to a port which sends and receives MIDI data ([MIDI], [USB] or [MIDI+USB]).To set MIDI communication between a Windows PC/Mac, an external MIDI device and DAW, see a manual of each device you use.
Net Number : 40 - Q12 Noise occurs when pressing the keyboard.

There are two possible causes.
1. If [Noise Level] in [MIXER] category is set at 1 or higher, white noise is output as part of sound. To avoid this, set the [Noise Level] as 0 (zero).2. Is [Keys Sens] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu set properly?
Set [Keys Sens] to a proper value while checking how the keyboard works.
The TORAIZ AS-1’s keyboard is an electrostatic capacitive touch pad. You can adjust the keyboard touch sensitivity to a player using this setting. Depending on the setting, however, the keyboard may not respond properly and intermittent sound such as noise may be produced.Net Number : 41 - Q13 Sound sustains even when the foot pedal is not turned on.

There are three possible causes:
1. Is a cable to send trigger signals properly connected?
Connect this unit and a device that sends trigger signals properly.2. When inputting audio signals to the [TRIGGER IN] terminal, you need to input them in an appropriate signal level. We recommend that the input signal level is 5Vp-p or higher with a fast attack and short sustain.
3. Operation of this unit using trigger signals may differ depending on the [TRIGGER IN] setting and operation status of this unit. Check the setting at [Seq Jack Mode] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu and operation status.

1. Depending on the setting of [Alternate Tuning] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu, tuning of each scale may be different from equal temperament of 12 degrees. Select [Equal Temperme..] for [Alternate Tuning].2. Depending on the setting of [Scale Mode] of the [GLOBAL SETTING] menu,
you can change scales on the keyboard. If you select [Normal] for [Scale Mode], the scale is set as diatonic scale (piano scale).For details, please see "Changing the unit settings ([GLOBAL SETTING])", "Alternate tuning list" and "Keyboard mode scale list" in the Operating Instructions of this unit.

When the screen saver is working on this condition, the [CLOCK TAP] button is lit to let us know the power of this unit is turned on. Operate any control/button on the top panel to turn off the [CLOCK TAP] button and get your screen back to normal.Net Number : 76 - Q20 The [CLOCK TAP] button is not blinking.

If you perform calibration right after you turned on the power of the unit, analog circuit may be unstable because temperature inside the unit is not stable. Please perform calibration again.
