Q1 Can I change the functions of buttons and knobs to suit my preference?

It depends on your application.

[djay for iOS]
You can change them as follows.
1. Tap djay icon > Gear icon on the top of the window.
2. Tap [MIDI Devices] > [DDJ-200 Bluetooth].
3. Tap items in [CONTROL MAPPINGS] and change the setting.

[rekordbox]
Yes. rekordbox has a MIDI LEARN feature.
You can use it to change the buttons or knobs that features are assigned to.
For details, refer to the MIDI LEARN Operation Guide.
You can read the MIDI LEARN Operation Guide [here].

*You can't change them when using WeDJ for iPhone, WeDJ for Android or edjing Mix.

Q2 How can I use the performance pads? Can I switch the mode?

It depends on your application.

[WeDJ for iPhone]
You can use [HOT CUE], [LOOP], [PAD FX] and [SAMPLER].
The above buttons are displayed on the screen after the Bluetooth connection is established.
By tapping the buttons, you can change the mode.

[WeDJ for Android]
You can use [HOT CUE], [AUTO LOOP], [MANUAL LOOP], [PAD FX] and [SAMPLER].
[PAD MODE SELECT] buttons are displayed on the screen after the Bluetooth connection is established.
By tapping the buttons, you can change the mode.

[djay]
You can't change the pad mode.
You can control Beat Loops, Bounce Loops, and Hot Cues.

[edjing Mix]
You can't change the pad mode.
You can control Hot Cues.

[rekordbox]
You can use [HOT CUE], [BEAT LOOP], [PAD FX1] and [SAMPLER].
The above buttons are displayed on the screen after the USB connection is established.
By tapping the buttons, you can change the mode.

Q3 Can I load the sound recorded on my smartphone to my PC/Mac?

Yes. Use iTunes to load it to your PC/Mac.

1. Connect the iOS device to your PC/Mac and start iTunes.
2. Select the iOS device you use in the icon on the upper left of the screen.
3. Click [File Sharing] on the left side of the screen.
4. Select the app you are using from [Apps].
5. Select the recorded file you want to save from the right side of the screen
　 (Select the [Recordings] folder if the app is WeDJ)
6. Scroll the screen to the bottom and click [Save...], which appears at the bottom right.

Q4 What is buffer size and how can I adjust it when using rekordbox?

The buffer size setting is a detailed setting related to audio transmission.
When you hear sound cuts or delays in operation, you can solve the issue by adjusting the buffer size.
The larger the value of [Sample], the less likely you’ll hear sound cuts etc. The smaller the value is, the less likely you’ll experience delays in operation.

As an example, when issues such as sound cuts occur, set the buffer size to a large value such as 1024 samples.
Play a track and check it no longer cuts.
Next, change to a low value and use the unit.
Repeat these steps until the sound cuts stop and you can’t feel a delay in operation.

You can adjust buffer size in rekordbox [Preference] > [Audio] > [Buffer size].

The best value to set depends on the system environment.
You don’t need to adjust buffer size if you’re not experiencing a particular problem.

Q5 I want to use the unit with a DJ application other than rekordbox by assigning MIDI. Where can I find the MIDI code sent from the unit when I use each button or knob?

Q6 When my PC/Mac or smartphone enters standby mode or sleep mode then returns to normal, is it OK to use it?

After your PC/Mac returns from standby or sleep mode, be sure to reconnect the unit and restart your DJ application before using it.
We don’t guarantee stable operation when your PC/Mac has recovered from standby or sleep mode.

Q7 What is Transition FX?

[WeDJ for iPhone]
You can easily mix like a professional DJ with effects and scratches, simply by using the crossfader.

[djay/edjing Mix]
You can easily mix with filters, simply by using the crossfader.

*This function is not available for WeDJ for Android/rekordbox.

Q8 When I move the crossfader while using djay, the headphone CUE is automatically switched. Can I disable this function?

Yes. You can enable/disable it as follows.

1. Taps djay icon > Gear icon on the top of the screen.
2. Tap [Advanced].
3 Tap [Auto Select] in [PRE-CUEING].

Q9 How can I check the tempo range when using djay?

Tap [BPM] on the djay screen and then select [Tempo] to check the tempo range.
