For proper connections, see "Connections" in the Operating Instructions.
The Operating Instructions can be obtained from the Pioneer DJ support page.2. Did you select the channel you would like to SEND by the BEAT FX effect channel selector switch?
3. Is the ON/OFF switch of SEND/RETERN turned on (blink)?

Note: Please refer to the following FAQ.
Installation/Connections > What are the specifications of the SEND/RETURN terminals?Net Number : 59 - Q6 Sound of the external effecter is distorted.
-
A6
Is the external effecter's audio output level set appropriately? Adjust the external effecter's audio output level.
Net Number : 60 - Q7 Tempo (BPM) cannot be measured or tempo (BPM) measurement is not correct.
-
A7
There are three possible causes.
1. If the audio input level is too high or too low, the BPM value may not be correctly measured. Adjust the [TRIM] knob so that the channel level indicator lights up to around [0 dB] at the input sound's peak level.
2. Depending on the track, the BPM value may not be correctly measured. In this case, use the [TAP] button to input the BPM value manually.
3. If this unit is LINK-connected to a Pioneer DJ player supporting PRO DJ LINK, check the following items as well.
3-a. If the PLAYER No. of the CH you are playing and the LINK-connected DJ player is the same, the BPM value might be obtained via the LINK from the DJ player. Try the followings: 1) Change the PLAYER No. to the CH connecting to the audio cable; 2) Disconnect the DJ player's link cable (or turn its power off), or use the [TAP] button to input the BPM value manually.
3-b. Is the BPM value displayed on the DJ player's display unit? If the BPM value is not measured on the DJ player, the BPM value cannot be displayed on this DJM. In this case, use the [TAP] button to input the BPM value manually.Net Number : 61 - Q8 The measured tempo (BPM) value is different from the value indicated on the CDJ or RMX-1000App for iPad.
-
A8
The values may differ slightly due to different methods used for measuring the BPM. This is not a malfunction.
Net Number : 62 - Q9 No sound is produced or volume is low.
-
A9
There are six possible causes.
1. Is the [USB A, USB B, DIGITAL, LINE, PHONO, RETURN AUX] selector switch set to the proper position?
Turn the [USB A, USB B, DIGITAL, LINE, PHONO, RETURN AUX] selector switch and set it to the channel's input source.
2. Are connection cables properly connected? Connect the connection cables properly. For details, see "Connecting input terminals" and "Connecting output terminals" in the operating instructions.
3. Is [MASTER LEVEL] set to the proper position? Adjust [MASTER LEVEL] so that the master level indicator lights up to the orange indicator at the peak level.
4. Is [TRIM] set to the proper position? Adjust [TRIM] so that the channel level indicator lights up to the orange indicator at the peak level.
5. Are terminals and plugs dirty? Wipe any dirt off terminals and plugs before connecting.
6. Is [MASTER ATT.] set at for example [-12 dB]? Switch [MASTEROUT][ ATT.] at the [UTILITY] screen. For details, see "Changing the settings" in the operating instructions.Net Number : 63 - Q10 Even when no sound is being input to the microphone (MIC) terminal, the talkover function is sometimes activated and the master sound gets low.
-
A10
The talkover function can sometimes be activated erroneously due to the influence of static electricity, etc. If you do not want to use the talkover function, turn it off.
Net Number : 64 - Q11 Digital sound cannot be output.
-
A11
Does the digital sound output's sampling frequency (fs) match the specifications of the connected device? At the [UTILITY] screen, set [Digital Master Output Sampling Rate] according to the specifications of the connected device. For details, see "Changing the settings" in the Operating Instructions.
Net Number : 65 - Q12 Sound is distorted.
-
A12
There are two possible causes.
1. Is [MASTER LEVEL] set to the proper position? Adjust [MASTER LEVEL] so that the master level indicator lights up to the orange indicator at the peak level.
2. Is [TRIM] set to the proper position? Adjust [TRIM] so that the channel level indicator lights up to the orange indicator at the peak level. If the sound is distorted even after the input/output level has been adjusted, the level may exceed the power amplifier's maximum allowable input level. Set an appropriate level using [MASTER OUT][ ATT] at the Setting Utility . The level can be attenuated by 25% at -12dB, by 35% at -9dB, by 50% at -6 dB, by 70% at -3 dB. This setting does not affect the master level indicator.
Net Number : 66 - Q13 Sound is distorted when an analog player is connected to this unit's [PHONO] terminals, or indication on the channel level indicator does not change when the [TRIM] control is turned.
-
A13
