FAQ
- Q1 When I play the same track on the CDJ-2000NXS2 and on another CDJ player, the BPM display is different.
-
A1
The way the BPM is processed differs on the CDJ-2000NXS2 and other devices, so the BPM may be displayed differently. This is not a malfunction.
Net Number : 4 - Q2 The sound seems to be distorted when I change the tempo with the master tempo function on.
-
A2
When the master tempo function is turned on, key control processing is used to keep the key constant, so the sound changes. This change in sound quality is due to the current system's specifications and is to be expected considering product's performance.
Net Number : 6 - Q3 I set the sound setting on the computer to the CDJ-2000NXS2, but the sound of the computer is not produced from the CDJ-2000NXS2.
-
A3
On the link mode screen, select "PC Control", then press the rotary selector.
Net Number : 7 - Q4 The USB devices (flash memory drives and hard disks) is not recognized.
-
A4
1. There is a possibility that you are using a USB device that consumes high current (such as flash memory or a hard disk) (Warning is displayed on the main unit display if electric current more than the permissible amount flows to the USB device). Use a USB device rated lower than the rating of the unit (5V/2.1A). Alternatively, use a hard disk to which power can be externally supplied through an AC adapter.
2. The unit does not support this format. Format the USB device using FAT32, FAT, or HFS+.
3. The Mac OS standard format of the GUID partition map is not supported.
4. If a USB device is formatted with the Mac Extended format where Case Sensitivity is set, the unit may not recognize the device properly.
5. Some USB devices are not recognized, but this problem can be resolved by updating the unit.Net Number : 10 - Q5 Cue and loop points of tracks on storage devices cannot be stored in the memory.
-
A5
It could be one of the two cases below. Check the storage devices.
1. There is not enough free space on the storage devices.
2. The device is write-protected.Net Number : 11 - Q6 Tracks are not registered in the HISTORY.
-
A6
Only the tracks analyzed by using rekordbox are registered in HISTORY. If the analyzed tracks are not registered in HISTORY, following 4 cases are possible.
1. Not enough space available on the storage device.
2. The storage device is write-protected.
3. The track was selected for less than 60 seconds. (Once the track is selected for more than 60 seconds, the track is registered in HISTORY. If track is paused for more than 60 seconds, or any action other than playback is performed on track for more than 60 seconds, it is registered in HISTORY.)
4. The track was not registered in HISTORY when the track was loaded from the [Folder] and played.Net Number : 12 - Q7 The disc is not ejected when I press the DISC EJECT button.
-
A7
When the EJECT/LOAD LOCK setting in UTILITY is turned on, discs cannot be ejected during playback. Either first set the pause or cue standby mode then press the EJECT button, or turn off the EJECT/LOAD LOCK setting.
Net Number : 14 - Q8 Tracks cannot be loaded.
-
A8
The tracks cannot be loaded during playback if the LOAD LOCK setting in UTILITY is ON. Set the track to pause or cue standby and press rotary selector or set the LOAD LOCK setting to OFF.
Net Number : 16 - Q9 When I press the USB STOP button while playing a track on a USB devices (flash memory drives and hard disks), the volume of the sound be played lowers.
-
A9
This is a warning against stopping playback accidentally.
If the USB STOP button is released before playback stops, playback continues.Net Number : 17 - Q10 I can't change the player number with the UTILITY menu.
-
A10
With LINK connections, if USB devices (flash memory drives and hard disks) are inserted in any of the connected players, the player number cannot be changed. Eject the memory device, then change the number.
Net Number : 18 - Q11 When playing tracks on a USB hard disk, playback sometimes stops.
-
A11
When using near speakers that produce high volumes, such as club speakers, reading of data on the USB hard disk may be hampered by the influence of the acoustic pressure traveling through the space or vibrations traveling through the table.
Generally, such measures as moving the set to a place where it is not affected by acoustic pressure or using vibration damping materials are effective. For detailed information on installing in such environments, contact your hard disk manufacturer's support center.Net Number : 24 - Q12 PRO DJ LINK does not work well.
-
A12
Check the following items.
1. Check that the player number has been set correctly. For details, see the Operating Instructions.
2. Check that the LAN cable is correctly connected to the LINK terminal.
3. Check that the power of the switching hub is turned on.
4. Disconnect unnecessary devices, if any, from the switching hub.Net Number : 25 - Q13 I connected a mobile device to this unit via a wireless LAN access point, but the mobile device switched to a different access point by itself.
-
A13
The behavior differs according to the mobile device's specifications.
When an access point with a strong signal (one that has been connected to in the past, one with open security, etc.) is detected on the list of wireless (Wi-Fi) connections set on the mobile device, the connection switches automatically. This depends on the mobile device's specifications, but to avoid this operation and prevent the mobile device connection from switching by itself, delete that access point from the list in the wireless (Wi-Fi) settings.
Net Number : 31 - Q14 I was holding a DJ performance with rekordbox (iOS/Android) and a CDJ-2000NXS2 connected, but when I used the phone or another application on the mobile device the performance was interrupted.
-
A14
When rekordbox (iOS/Android) is running and the telephone or another application is used in the foreground, rekordbox (iOS/Android) processing continues in the background. However, applications running in the background may be suspended or stopped due to iOS or Android operating system control.
If you have used the telephone or another application, quit it promptly and set rekordbox (iOS/Android) back to the foreground.Net Number : 32 - Q15 I don't understand the conditions by which the sync master switches.
-
A15
First, as a condition to become the sync master, the loaded track must fulfill all of the requirements below.
-It must have been analyzed with rekordbox.(A deck cannot be set as the master for tracks that have not been analyzed.)
-The track must have a BPM of 40 or greater for a tempo of 0.0%.-The deck on which playback was started first is set as the master.
-When the pause operation is performed on the master deck (by pressing the PLAY button during playback, pressing the CUE button or touching the jog dial), or when a track is loaded, the master deck switches to the currently playing deck. (It does not switch while in the pause mode.)Net Number : 33 - Q16 When I synchronize, the tempo slider on the player that is not the master stops working.
-
A16
With a player that is not the master, if the sync mode is turned on, the sound is synchronized with the BPM of the master player, so that player’s tempo slider is disabled.
Net Number : 35 - Q17 The track search buttons do not work when using a mobile device (smartphone or tablet).
-
A17
The TRACK SEARCH buttons cannot be used while using a mobile device (smartphone or tablet). Press the BROWSE or BACK button, then search for tracks from the browse screen.
Net Number : 38 - Q18 When playing tracks with a computer or mobile device (smartphone or tablet) connected by Wi-Fi (wireless), the sound stops or the emergency loop mode is set.
-
A18
It may happen that the necessary transfer rate cannot be maintained due to the specifications of the terminal you are using or due to the wireless environment, resulting in the sound stopping. Below are some methods to avoid this.
-Use wired connections to play tracks.
-Reduce the number of players being used simultaneously (to two generally speaking).
- Do not increase the playing tempo. (Generally speaking, use with a tempo range of ±16%.)Net Number : 39 - Q19 When playing tracks with USB (wired) connections on an iPhone on which rekordbox (iOS) is installed, the sound stops or the emergency loop mode is set.
-
A19
It may happen that transfer rate of the terminal you are using is insufficient, resulting in the sound stopping. Below are some methods to avoid this.
1. Reduce the number of players being used simultaneously (to two generally speaking).
2. Do not increase the playing tempo. (Generally speaking, use with a tempo range of ±16%.)Net Number : 41 - Q20 When an Android smartphone and the CDJ-2000NXS2 are connected by USB cable, the smartphone is not recognized by the CDJ-2000NXS2.
-
A20
This may be due to one of the following reasons:
1. The Android smartphone you are using does not support the MTP mode. The smartphone must support the MTP mode in order to connect it by USB cable to the CDJ-2000NXS2. For information on whether or not your smartphone supports the MTP mode and how to set it, see the operating instructions of the smartphone.
2. Depending on the specifications of the MTP mode of the smartphone you are using, the operation may differ depending on whether or not an SD memory card is inserted. In some cases, it may be possible to connect the smartphone to the CDJ-2000NXS2 after removing (or inserting) the SD memory card.
3. Depending on the specifications of the MTP mode of the smartphone you are using, there are some terminals on which the “MTP in use” message is displayed continuously in the foreground of the screen of the smartphone while connected by MTP. With such terminals, rekordbox cannot be operated with MTP connections, so such terminals cannot be connected to the CDJ-2000NXS2 using a USB cable.
4. Depending on the specifications of the MTP mode of the smartphone you are using, MTP connections may only be usable with applications exclusively for Macintosh or Windows. Such terminals cannot be connected to the CDJ-2000NXS2 using a USB cable.Net Number : 42 - Q21 A portion of the touch display adjoining the touched portion erroneously responds. The touch display was calibrated but the problem persists.
-
A21
Pay attention to the following when calibrating the touch panel in the graph setting mode.
When calibrating, use a touch pen or other object with a narrow tip to touch the center of the point at which the + marks that are displayed intersect.
The calibration may not be accurate if you use your finger when calibrating.Net Number : 45 - Q22 No response when the touch display is tapped.
-
A22
Calibration adjustment of touch display could be incorrect. Adjust the touch display by using the [TOUCH DISPLAY CALIBRATION] settings in the [UTILITY] screen.
Net Number : 46 - Q23 The pause position of a track shifts if VINIL MODE is switched from ON to OFF.
-
A23
Music data is managed in increments of 1/1000 sec. when VINYL MODE is ON, and 0.5 frame (1/150 sec.) when VINYL MODE is OFF.
The pause position may shift if the track is paused when VINYL MODE is ON and then VINYL MODE is switched to OFF.Net Number : 49 - Q24 rekordbox (Android) freezes when the Android smartphone/tablet is connected to the CDJ-2000NXS2 by Wi-Fi (wireless).
-
A24
In some cases this problem can be solved by updating your smartphone/tablet to the latest firmware version.
Net Number : 51 - Q25 The tempo slider stopped working when I turned the sync function off.
-
A25
To keep the tempo from changing suddenly directly after the sync function is turned off, the unit is designed so that the tempo of audio output does not change when the tempo slider is operated until the tempo at the position of the tempo slider matches the tempo of audio output.
The BPM value corresponding to the position of the tempo slider is displayed grayed out on the playing speed display on the LCD. Operate the tempo slider so that this matches the BPM display for the currently playing track. Once this is done, the tempo slider is enabled and the playing speed display returns to normal.Net Number : 52 - Q26 When CDJ-2000NXS2 and a computer are connected using a USB cable, a message “Device driver software was not installed successfully” is appeared.
