Q1 Can I record DJ performances?: A1

Recording is possible on a USB memory device, HDD, etc., connected to the USB 2 device insertion slot.
The recorded file format is as shown below.
　File type: wav
　Bit size: 16 bits
　Sampling frequency: 44.1 kHz
　Encoding: Uncompressed PCM

Q2 Can sound recorded on a USB device be immediately loaded into a player?: A2

After recording is completed, the sound can be browsed from the [PIONEER REC] category and loaded. Files that are currently being recorded cannot be loaded, however.

Q3 What are the USB recording function's specifications?: A3

The USB recording function records this unit's master output.
The recording level is the pre-master level.
The sound is recorded in WAV files in the "PIONEER REC" folder on the USB device.
Approximately 90 minutes of sound can be recorded on a 1 GB USB device.
The recorded file (WAV) is automatically split every three hours of recording.
The maximum limit to the number of recorded files is 999.

Q4 REC ERROR is displayed, and the MASTER REC button is rapidly blinking.: A4

This error is displayed when the writing process fails, or when the writing-disabled USB device is connected. The display of this error may depend on the specifications and performance of the USB device. Therefore, if the error is displayed multiple times, it is recommended to use another USB device.
The same message is displayed when you attempt to record on the iPhone, iPod or Android device connected to the unit. (Recording on the iOS/Android terminal is not possible.)

The rapid blinking stops when the MASTER REC button is pressed again.

Q5 "FILE MAX" is displayed.: A5

Recording is not possible if there are 999 recorded files in the "PIONEER REC" folder on the USB device or a file named "REC999.WAV".
You can record again after performing one of the operations below.
(1) The maximum number of recorded files is 999, so if you already have 999 recorded files, use your computer to delete some recorded files or move them from the "PIONEER REC" folder.
(2) If there is a file named "REC999.WAV" in the folder, change the file name.

Q6 I disconnected the USB device during USB recording or playback. Is this OK?: A6

Disconnecting the USB device while it is being accessed could damage the USB device and make it impossible to read or write data on it.
Always press and hold in the USB STOP button until the USB STOP indicator turns off before disconnecting USB devices.

Recording on an iPhone, iPod or Android terminal is not possible.

Q8 When recording on USB devices, the recording level stays constant even when [MASTER LEVEL] is adjusted. Is this by design?: A8

Yes.
To adjust the recording level,
1. For DECK/PHONO/LINE inputs
Adjust with the TRIM control and channel fader.
Note, however, that if the TRIM control is turned clockwise so that the channel level indicator lights red, the input level is too high and the sound may be distorted.

2. For MIC inputs
Adjust with the LEVEL control.

Q9 USB FULL is displayed, and the MASTER REC button is rapidly blinking.: A9

This error is displayed when recording or MEMORY CUE/HOT CUE REC is performed when there is no free space on the USB device, and no recording is performed.

If the error is displayed during recording, the recording automatically stops and saves the recording results from before it was stopped.

The rapid blinking stops when the MASTER REC button is pressed again.

The MASTER REC button flashes while the recorded file is being written on the USB device. Depending on the USB device's performance and usage conditions, the writing process may take a long time.
