FAQ
- Q1 I would like to output 2V, but how should I set up the level meter. Also, what is the relationship between MASTER ATT and the level meter?
-
A1
If MASTER ATT is 0dB, when it is +6dB it is at 2V.
Even if you reduce the MASTER ATT, it does not change the reading of the level meter.
The MASTER ATT and the digital OUT are unrelated.Net Number : 3 - Q2 The digital output is too low compared to the analog output. When the master is at 0dB, it is at –19dB.
-
A2
This is to provide a headroom of +19dB. At +19dB, the digital is 0dB. However, it is possible to change the digital output level by changing the setting of the DIGITAL OUT MAX LEVEL in the hardware setup. (refer to the Operating Instructions)
Net Number : 5 - Q3 Can the beat effect be applied according to the frequency band, like with the EFX-1000?
-
A3
No, that isn’t supported; the specification calls for applying effects to all frequency bands.
Net Number : 16 - Q4 I would like to be able to use the CHANNEL FADER to just change the audio or just the video image, but what do I need to do?
-
A4
Turn the FADER AV SYNC to OFF.
*After switching it OFF, if you turn the FADER AV SYNC back to ON, it changes the video level to the CHANNEL FADER position.Net Number : 44 - Q5 Is it possible to assign a JPEG to more than one channel while on the JPEG Select Mode screen?

-
A7
Operate the VIDEO FX PATTERN / TEXT BANK knob.
Net Number : 77 - Q8 I want to get the text I was editing in Text Effects to revert back to the original, but how can I do that?
-
A8
You cannot get text you were editing to revert to the original, but if you press the FACTORY TEXT button, it does return the text to the default settings.
Alternatively, if you save text to an SD card prior to editing, you can return to the text prior to editing by reading it from the SD card (an SD card is of course necessary to do this).Net Number : 79 - Q9 I want the RADIATION touch effect to come right out of the center; what do I need to do to get that?
-
A9
Turn the HOLD to OFF and touch the RADIATION button again.
(Pressing the RADIATION button makes the coordinates reset to the center of the screen.)Net Number : 91 - Q10 Using touch effects, I would like to have an effect just stay as applied, even when I’m not touching the video effect performance monitor. What do I need to do?
-
A10
Turn the HOLD button ON and touch the spot on the video effect performance monitor where you would like to apply the effect. The coordinates of the spot you touched are recorded and the effect is applied even when you are not touching the monitor.
Net Number : 95 - Q11 When using a touch effect with the HOLD button ON, the effect repeats; if you reset that effect once and return to the original screen, can you reset things like the rotation position and the touch coordinates?
-
A11
When the HOLD button is ON, with the DISTORTION effect for example, the effect is repeated with the distortion getting larger and larger. In a case like this, if you wish to reset once to the original screen, you can touch the effect selection button of that effect and it will reset to the original screen.
Alternatively, with the TWIST effect, if you reset, it will rotate only in the direction of the x axis.
Resetting during HOLD does not work for all effects.Net Number : 97 - Q12 Is it possible to turn the Visualizer ON/OFF while operating the VIDEO CHARACTER knob on the Master Monitor display screen?
-
A12

Net Number : 100 - Q13 If the equalizer settings, such as RGB are left as they were during setup, can each of the HI, MID and LOW be turned ON/OFF?
-
A13
They can only be turned OFF. Making the RGB settings directly turns them ON.
Net Number : 104 - Q14 I would like to make all the EQ SET UP settings, HI, MID and LOW the same in relationship to operating the audio, but is this possible?
-
A14

Net Number : 140 - Q18 Even if I set the Effect Mode Switch button to A (audio only), the effect is applied to the video image on the video effect monitor.
-
A18
The video image on the video effect monitor always displays the video image that has had an effect applied, regardless of the setting of the Effect Mode Switch button.
Net Number : 141 - Q19 If MIC is selected for the channel to apply an effect, is it possible to apply the affect to a video image?
-
A19
No, when MIC is selected, the effect may not be applied to the video image. The unit has this spec because there is no video image IN for the MIC line.
