- Q1 What is required besides the DDJ-SP1 for DJ performances?

The DDJ-SP1 is an add-on type controller supporting the “Serato DJ” DJ software from Serato.
A DJ system supporting Serato DJ and consisting of the equipment below is required.-A computer on which Serato DJ is installed
-A Serato DJ-certifiable DJ mixer or DJ controller
-Powered speakers (or an amplifier and speakers)

Net Number : 4 - Q3 Is it possible to use this unit as a general purpose MIDI controller and to operate MIDI-compatible DJ software other than Serato DJ?

When using in combination with MIDI-compatible DJ software other than Serato DJ, operation is possible by performing the settings in 1 and 2 below.
1. DDJ-SP1 is set to output optimum MIDI signals for operating Serato DJ, and the settings must be changed to operate other MIDI-compatible DJ software.
In this unit’s utilities mode, change the setting to the setting to use DJ software other than Serato DJ.
For details, see the "Changing this unit's settings" section of this unit’s operating instructions(basic edition) or (advanced edition).2. In order to operate MIDI-compatible DJ software with this unit, the various functions of the DJ software must be assigned to this unit’s control interface.

The standard driver software included in OS is used, so there is no need to install the driver software.

Pioneer recommends the following procedure.
1) Connect the Serato DJ-certifiable device to the computer by USB cable.
2) Turn on the computer's power.
3) Turn on the power of the Serato DJ-certifiable device.
4) Launch Serato DJ.
5) Connect this unit to your computer via a USB cable.Net Number : 16 - Q6 Is an Internet environment (connection) required?

An Internet connection environment is necessary to download the Serato DJ and Serato VIDEO Software, and to upgrade it to the latest version.

This unit can be used in combination with Serato DJ-compatible DJ players, DJ mixers and integrated DJ controllers, but it can be used to its best advantage by adding it to a DVS system centered on the DJM-900SRT.

If you're using a PC/Mac that only has a USB Type-C port, you'll need a USB Type-C (plug) to USB Type-A (socket) conversion cable (sold separately).
When using one of these cables, be sure it's a product recommended by the manufacturer of your PC/Mac.Net Number : 58 - Q12 Can I connect the unit to a PC/Mac via a USB hub?

You should connect the unit directly to a USB port on the PC/Mac.
Connecting via a USB hub may cause unwanted noise or malfunction.
