- Q1 The UTILITY (WAKE UP) button's LED indicator is flashing (or lit) even though this unit is not set to the utility mode. What does this mean?

The UTILITY (WAKE UP) button's indicator flashes (or lights) under the following conditions, even when not set in the utility mode:
Flashing in a slow cycle (4 seconds)
This means the driver software is not properly installed. Install the driver software. For details, see "Installing the driver software" in the operating instructions.Constantly lit
This means the auto standby mode is set.
The power is restored when the UTILITY (WAKE UP) button is pressed. For details, see "About the auto standby function" in the operating instructions.Net Number : 73 - Q2 Power does not turn on.

Is the [LEVEL] control on the front panel set to an appropriate position? Adjust the [LEVEL] control on the front panel according to the connected device.
Net Number : 77 - Q6 Sound is distorted when an analog player is connected to this unit's [PHONO] terminals, or channel level indicator does not change when the [TRIM] control is turned.

There are two possible causes.
1. Is an analog player with a built-in phono equalizer connected? Connect analog players with built-in phono equalizers to the [CD] terminals.
Also, if the analog player with a built-in phono equalizer has a PHONO/LINE selector switch, switch it to PHONO.
2. Is a USB sound card (audio interface) for a computer connected between the analog player and this unit? If the output of the computer's audio interface is line level, connect to the [CD] terminals. Also, if the analog player has a PHONO/LINE selector switch, switch it to PHONO.Net Number : 78 - Q7 Sound is distorted.

There are four possible causes.
1. Are the TRAKTOR [MAIN VOL] and [GAIN] controls set to appropriate positions? Adjust the [MAIN VOL] and [GAIN] controls while watching TRAKTOR's [MAIN] level indicator.
2. Is the audio level input to the [AUX IN] and [MIC] terminals appropriately set? Set the audio level input to the terminals to an appropriate level for the connected device.
3. Is the audio level output from the [MASTER] channel appropriately set? Adjust the [MASTER LEVEL] control so that the master channel level indicator lights to about [0 dB] at the peak level. Also, if the sound is distorted when the [MASTER LEVEL] control is adjusted, set [MASTER ATT.] to [-6dB].
4. Is the audio level input to the respective channels appropriately set? Adjust the [TRIM] control so that the channel level indicator lights to about [0 dB] at the peak level.Net Number : 79 - Q8 Sound is interrupted during playback.

There are two possible causes.
1. Is the included power cord or included USB cable properly connected? The sound will be interrupted if the included power cord or included USB cable is disconnected from this unit during playback. Properly fasten the included USB cable to this unit's cord hook.
2. Is the audio latency value appropriate? When using Windows, open the setting utility's [ASIO] tab and set the audio latency value appropriately. When using a Macintosh computer, set the audio latency value appropriately at [Preferences] > [Audio Setup] > [Latency] in TRAKTOR.Net Number : 80 - Q9 Sound of an external device or microphone cannot be output.

Is the [INPUT SELECT] switch on the front panel set to [OFF]? Set the [INPUT SELECT] switch to the [AUX] position when using an external device, to the [MIC] position when using a microphone.
Net Number : 81 - Q10 No sound is produced.

There are six possible causes.
1. Are connection cables properly connected? Connect the connection cables properly.
2. Is the included USB cable properly connected? Connect the computer and this unit directly using the included USB cable. USB hubs cannot be used.
3. Are terminals or plugs dirty? Wipe any dirt off terminals and plugs before connecting them.
4. Is the driver software properly installed on the computer? If it is not installed properly, the UTILITY (WAKE UP) button flashes. Install the driver software properly on the computer.
5. Are [Audio Setup], [Output Routing] and [Input Routing] properly set in TRAKTOR?
Check that [Preferences] is set as follows:
[Audio Setup] > [Audio Device] > [PIONEER DJM-T1 (Core Audio)] (Mac OS X) or [PIONEER DJM-T1 ASIO (ASIO)] (Windows)
[Output Routing] > [Output Deck A] [L] > [1.PIONEER DJM-T1 OUT 1] and [R] > [2.PIONEER DJM-T1 OUT 2]
[Output Routing] > [Output Deck B] [L] > [3.PIONEER DJM-T1 OUT 3] and [R] > [4.PIONEER DJM-T1 OUT 4]
[Input Routing] > [Input Deck A] [L(Mono)] > [1.PIONEER DJM-T1 IN 1] and [R] > [2.PIONEER DJM-T1 IN 2]
[Input Routing] > [Input Deck B] [L(Mono)] > [3.PIONEER DJM-T1 IN 3] and [R] > [4.PIONEER DJM-T1 IN 4]
6. Are the connected components and amplifiers properly set? Switch the external inputs of the components and amplifiers and set the volume properly.Net Number : 82 - Q11 No sound is produced or volume is low.

There are two possible causes.
1. Is the [CD, PHONO, USB] input selector switch set to the proper position? Switch the [CD, PHONO, USB] input selector switch to switch the channel's input source.
2. Is [MASTER ATT.] set to [–6 dB]? Set [MASTER ATT.] to [0 dB].Net Number : 83 - Q12 BPM or overall waveform is not displayed.

Has the music file been analyzed with TRAKTOR? Put a check at [Preferences] > [File Management] > [Analyze new tracks when loading into deck], then reload the track onto the deck.

There are two possible causes.
1. Has the music file been properly imported? Re-import the music file and load it onto the deck.
2. Has the music file been analyzed? If music files cannot be analyzed automatically, input the beat grid manually.Net Number : 85 - Q14 Sync function does not work even though track has been analyzed.

There are three possible causes.
1. Is [BEAT MARKER (Grid)] set for the hot cue? Set at least one [BEAT MARKER] to [Grid]. Also, put a check at [Preferences] > [File Management] > [Set Beat-Grid when detecting BPM], then reload the track onto the deck.
2. At the TRAKTOR operation screen, is the BPM of the track whose [MASTER] icon is lit too far apart from the BPM of the track whose [SYNC] icon is lit? The sync function will not work properly if the BPM of the deck whose [MASTER] icon is lit exceeds the adjustable tempo range of the track whose [SYNC] icon is lit.
3. Are you scratching? The sync function is deactivated when scratching.Net Number : 86 - Q15 Deck area display is small.

1. Is the MIDI channel properly set? Set the MIDI channel from the [MIDI] tab in the setting utility.
2. Are the MIDI settings properly set? To operate DJ software with this unit, this unit's MIDI messages must be assigned in your DJ software. This unit operates when the computer restarts from the sleep or standby mode, but your DJ software may not. If not, quit the DJ software, disconnect the USB cable, then reconnect the USB cable and relaunch the DJ software.
Net Number : 94 - Q23 This unit is not recognized when connected to a computer.

There are four possible causes.
1. Is the power [ON/OFF] switch set to [ON]? Set the power [ON/OFF] switch to [ON].
2. Is the included USB cable properly connected? Properly connect the included USB cable.
3. Check that [Pioneer. DJM-T1] is selected at [Preferences] > [Controller Manager] > [Device Setup] > [Device].
4. There is a limit to the number of devices that can be connected simultaneously in Windows (ex.: 5 for Windows XP Home, 20 for Windows 7, etc.). If this limit is exceeded, the device will not be recognized even if the driver software is properly installed. If this unit is not recognized by the computer, disconnect any connected devices that are not being used.Net Number : 95 - Q24 Only stereo channel 1 can be used when this unit is connected to a computer.

1. The exclusive driver software must be installed before using this unit. For details, see "Installing the driver software" in the operating instructions.
2. This unit and the computer must be properly connected. For details, see "Connecting this unit with a computer" in the operating instructions. If there is still a problem with the connections, quit the DJ application, unplug the USB cable, then plug the cable back in and relaunch the DJ software.
3. This symptom could happen if you have connected this unit with a Windows computer by USB cable before installing the driver software. In this case, the problem can be solved by reinstalling the driver software using the procedure below.1. Connect this unit and the computer by USB cable.
2. Delete "PIONEER DJM-T1" from [Sound Devices] in [Device Manager].
3. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the computer to this unit.
4. Install the driver software.
*This unit and the exclusive driver software only support Hi-Speed USB.
Check that your computer, USB port and USB cable support Hi-Speed USB.Net Number : 96 - Q25 When a computer (Windows) is connected to this unit, a message appears on the computer's screen. What should I do?

When this unit is connected to a computer (Windows) for the first time or when it is connected to a different USB port on the computer, the message "Installing device driver software" may appear on the computer's screen. Wait awhile as such until the message "Device prepared for use" appears.
-[Connect to Windows Update to search for hardware] may appear during installation. If so, select [No, do not connect now], then click [Next] to continue installation.
-[Select the installation method] may appear during installation. If so, select [Install software automatically (recommended)], then click [Next] to continue installation.

3. Is the [CD, PHONO, USB] input selector switch set to the proper position? Set the [CD, PHONO, USB] input selector switch to the [USB] position.Net Number : 99 - Q28 Sound skips when using the USB sound card (audio interface) function.

There are six possible causes.
1. Sound skipping can be decreased by adjusting the buffer size.
Windows
When using ASIO driver, make the adjustment at the ASIO tab in the setting utility.
When using Direct Sound, make the adjustment from the DJ software.
Mac OS
Make the adjustment from the DJ software.
2. When using a laptop computer, the computer's performance may be intentionally reduced through the power-saving functions. Use the computer not on the battery but with the AC adapter and cancel all power-saving settings. Also cancel the screensaver function.
3. On Windows Vista, Windows 7, disable "Aero" setting if it's been active.
4. The sound may also skip if the CPU usage rate is high. Other applications being used simultaneously (including resident programs) could also affect performance. Check the recommended usage environment for your application.
5. Computer's internal devices or external devices connetced to may caouse sound skipping. In that case, disable all devices not in use.
6. Some application running on the back ground may cause this problem. If so, shut the other application down.*Customers using Native Instruments Traktor 2, please see Native Instrument Support site.

This issue may be improved with the TRAKTOR 2 settings file (TSI file) provided by Pioneer DJ Download the latest TRAKTOR 2 settings file (TSI file) from the link, then at the TRAKTOR 2 software's [Preferences] screen, import that TSI file.
Net Number : 103 - Q32 I use Mac OS X v10.3. When I try to install the DJM-900nexus, DJM-2000 or DJM-5000 driver software from the driver software CD-ROM included with this unit, installation does not proceed past the first window.

The included driver software CD-ROM version 1.00 (the version number is indicated on the disc) is not supported on Mac OS X v10.3.
Right-click [CD_menu] on the CD-ROM and open [Display package contents]. There are dmg files for the respective models in the [Contents] > [res] > [drivers] folder. Install the driver software from here. Alternatively, download the driver software for the respective model from the Pioneer DJ website and install it.Net Number : 104 - Q33 Windows users only 1.
