Files in MP3 and ACC format support ID3 tags in which track information is embedded, so the artist name, album name, etc., can be read out from the file and displayed. Files in WAV and AIFF format, however, do not support ID3 tags, so the artist name, album name, etc., cannot be read out from them. To display their track information, the track information must first be edited at the “Edit” item. Note that with the Import from iTunes function, the file information in the iTunes library is consulted, so the track information is displayed even for files in WAV and AIFF format.
