Headroom indicates the maximum level and margin for handling input signals without distortion. In general, it is expressed in decibels (dB) and as this value becomes larger, it is stronger against excess input and sound is less likely to be distorted.

The unit has an auto standby function and while in auto standby status, power supply is not stopped. Also, even when in standby status with the POWER button turned off, power supply is not completely stopped. If this unit is not to be used for a long time, disconnect the power cord of the unit from the outlet.

Yes, it does. When this unit and a computer on which Serato DJ is running are connected with a USB cable, such operations as starting the playback of tracks in Serato DJ can be controlled using this unit's fader. Connect this unit to a computer on which Serato DJ is running beforehand. This unit does not support a connection with CDJ using the PRO DJ LINK function or by connecting a control cord.

Yes. When this unit and the computer are connected and a track is played in iTunes, the sound is input to this unit's channel 1. It cannot be input to other channels. Also, files containing DRM data cannot be played.
If sound is not input when the above operation is performed, do the following.
Windows
Display the [Search programs and files] box from the [Start Menu], enter [mmsys.cpl], and then push Enter key. The sound settings window opens. Select "Pioneer DDJ-SZ2" in [playback] tab.
*This cannot be used simultaneously with the ASIO driver.Mac OS
Display the [Output] tab from [System Preferences] > [Sound], select "Sound output device," and then select "Pioneer DDJ-SZ2" from the sound devices. This unit's input channel can be changed by selecting "Pioneer DDJ-SZ2" in [Audio MIDI Setup] of [Applications] > [Utilities] and then using the [Configure speakers...] dialog box.Net Number : 50 - Q13 Is it possible to use this unit as a general purpose MIDI controller and to operate MIDI-compatible DJ software other than Serato DJ?

By lowering the buffer size setting, the latency (the period from when DDJ-SZ2 is operated until the sound is output) can be shortened. If there are interruptions in the sound, increase the buffer size, but note that this makes the latency longer. Set the buffer size to the minimum value at which no interruptions in the sound occur.
For Windows
If you are using Serato DJ, select [SETUP] > [AUDIO], and after clicking [LAUNCH DRIVER PANEL] in USB BUFFERSIZE, use the [ASIO] tab of DDJ-SZ2 Settings Utility to adjust the buffer size. If you are using DJ software other than Serato DJ, use the [ASIO] tab of DDJ-SZ2 Settings Utility to adjust the buffer size.For Mac OS
If you are using Serato DJ, select [SETUP] > [AUDIO], and use USB BUFFERSIZE to adjust the buffer size. If you are using DJ software other than Serato DJ, use the DJ software to adjust the buffer size.Net Number : 80 - Q16 Is Serato Scratch Live supported?

Serato Scratch Live is not supported. Use Serato DJ because it also supports DVS.
The Serato Scratch Live and Serato DJ databases are compatible, so if you have used Serato Scratch Live before, you can use the CRATE and CUE/LOOP points.
