Q1 Can I use a stereo microphone?

Stereo microphones are not supported. Use a monaural microphone.

Q3 What should the master level indicator be set to in order to output 2V? Also, is [MASTER ATT] related to the master level indicator?

When [MASTER ATT] is set to 0 dB, the MASTER1 output (XLR) is 2Vrms when the master level indicator is at +3 dB, and the MASTER2 output (PIN) is 2Vrms when the master level indicator is at about +6 dB (off the scale). The movement of the master level indicator does not change when [MASTER ATT] is turned down.

Q4 How much (dB) do you recommend for channel level indicator for each input? How much (dB) is acceptable for output without distortion? How much (dB) do you recommend for master level indicator?

We recommend you to keep the channel level indicator not to exceed 12 dB (to keep the level out of red) to prevent sudden loudness. Please control it with the TRIM knob.
CLIP indicator will quickly blink to indicate internal digital clipping.
Output will not be distorted with the volume up to 21 dB when ATT. of MASTER OUT is 0 dB.
We recommend you to keep the master level indicator not to exceed 12 dB (to keep the level out of red). Please control it with the MASTER LEVEL knob.

When the [PEAK MASTER] at [UTILITY] is enabled, you will be able to alleviate sudden, unpleasant digital clipping of the master output.

Q5 There are three types of volume adjustments, with the GAIN (TRIM), channel fader and MAIN VOL (MASTER LEVEL) controls. What is the difference between them?

GAIN
This adjusts the audio level input from external devices to the respective decks. Depending on the MAIN VOL value, sound may be output even if GAIN is turned all the way down.

Channel fader
These adjust the audio level output from the respective decks for mixing.

MAIN VOL
This adjusts the audio level output from this unit to external devices.

Q6 I have connected the effecter to the SEND/RETURN terminals, but the Echo effect tail cannot be heard after the fader is closed. Why is this?

When INSERT is selected from the RETURN TYPE of SEND/RETURN and the effect channel is set to the respective channel, you cannot hear the Echo effect tail. Post-fader effects allow the Echo effect tail to be heard even after the fader is closed when CROSSFADER A, CROSSFADER B or MASTER is selected as the effect channel.

Q7 Can I record DJ performances?

The recording function of the DJ software can be used.
Input this unit's sound output (digital) to the DJ software on the computer. (USB sound card function)

Q8 What features are available if I use USB-A terminal?

USB SEND/RETURN features are available.

Q11 Can I charge a mobile device via the USB-A terminal on the unit?

Yes. The USB-A terminal on the unit can supply 5V/2.1A power. You can supply power to your mobile device by plugging it into the terminal. Be sure to use the cable that came with your mobile device.
Note: Android is not supported.
Note: Check the power specifications of the device you want to connect before you use it.

Q12 Can I play a MIDI sequencer in sync with this DJM?

Yes. Using MIDI clock outputted from the USB-B terminal, you can playback in sync.
This DJM does not support MIDI START/STOP function, so please play on the sequencer side.
Please use a MIDI converter to connect this DJM to a sequencer.
The MIDI converter is required to have USB-A terminal and MIDI terminal. (e.g. iConnect MIDI4+ manufactured by iConnectivity)

Q13 I would like to use WAVEFORM VERTICAL/WAVEFORM HORIZONTAL/BROWSE function. What DJ players are compatible with this function?

Please connect CDJ-TOUR1 or CDJ-2000NXS2 (*) to use WAVEFORM VERTICAL/WAVEFORM HORIZONTAL/BROWSE function.

When CDJ-2000NXS2 is connected, please update CDJ-2000NXS2 to version 1.40 or later.

Q14 What is KUVO? How can I use KUVO?

KUVO is a network-based service where DJs can broadcast information about tracks on time when they are playing in public venues such as clubs and festivals.
The DJM-TOUR1 has a KUVO Gateway on board so you can easily connect to KUVO.

AES/EBU is a standard for the exchange of digital audio signals. The characteristic impedance for balanced digital signal transmission is set at 110 Ohm. Excellent noise resistance is realized thanks to the balanced digital signal transmission.

WORD CLOCK is a clock signal input from outside and used as sampling frequency reference.
It is used to synchronize interconnected multiple digital audio devices.
The device which generates the word clock, or clock master (mainly clock generator, etc.) is a clock source for all the slave audio devices.
