Q1 Does the DDJ-RB support restarting from the computer's standby and sleep modes?: A1

Operation is not guaranteed when the computer has been restarted from the standby or sleep mode.

Q2 There are three types of volume adjustments: with the TRIM control, with the channel faders and with the MASTER LEVEL control. What is the difference between them?: A2

TRIM: Adjusts the level of the sound input to the respective channels from the deck of the DJ application or external device.
CHANNEL FADER: Adjusts the level of sound output from the respective channels for mixing.
MASTER LEVEL: Adjusts the level of sound output from DDJ-RB to an external device.

Examples of use
1. Play tracks.
2. Move the channel fader away from you.
3. Adjust TRIM so that the orange indicator on the channel level indicator lights at the peak level.
4. Use MASTER LEVER to adjust the sound level of the speaker connected to the MASTER OUT terminal.

Q3 Is there a MIDI table?: A3

Yes.

Q4 I don't want to output the sound of the computer's program events (warning tones, etc.). Is there any method to prevent it?: A4

Change the setting in the computer.

Windows
Using the sound settings in Control Panel, set all sound settings for program events to OFF.

Mac OS X
In the Sound panel of System Preferences, set the sound effect playback device to a device other than DDJ-RB.

Q5 How do I update the firmware?: A5

Follow the procedure below.
1) Download the update file from the Pioneer DJ support site.
2) Extract the downloaded file (extraction will be performed automatically by some browsers).
3) Connect this unit to your computer via a USB cable while pressing the [SHIFT] button and [SYNC] button on the left deck of the unit.
4) Double-click the file extracted in step 2).
5) Start the update following the instructions on the screen.

Q6 I want to assign the functions of DJ software other than rekordbox to the DDJ-RB's buttons and controls. Where can find the MIDI codes output from the respective buttons and controls?: A6

Q7 I use the TRAKTOR SCRATCH series. Is it possible to perform scratch play using Control CD or Control VINYL?: A7

With DDJ-RB, you cannot scratch using Control CD or Control Vinyl of the TRAKTOR SCRATCH series.

Q8 Can tracks managed with iTunes be input to this unit's USB sound card (audio interface)?: A8

Yes. When this unit and the computer are connected and a track is played in iTunes, the sound is input to this unit's channel 1. It cannot be input to other channels. In this case, however, the volume cannot be changed even by operating a trim control or fader on this unit. (The channel level meter also does not light.)
When listening to playback sound with headphones, press the HEADPHONES CUE MASTER and then adjust the HEADPHONES LEVEL control to an appropriate position.
Also, files containing DRM data cannot be played.

If sound is not input when the above operation is performed, do the following.

Windows 7
Display the [Run] dialog box from the [Start] menu, enter [mmsys.cpl], and click [OK]. The [Sound] window opens. Select [DDJ-RB] on the [Playback] tab.
* This cannot be used simultaneously with the ASIO driver.

Windows 8.1
Select [Run] from [Apps View], enter [mmsys.cpl], and click [OK]. The [Sound] window opens. Select [DDJ-RB] on the [Playback] tab.
* This cannot be used simultaneously with the ASIO driver.

Windows 10
Right-click the Start button, select [Run], enter [mmsys.cpl], and click [OK]. The [Sound] window opens. Select [DDJ-RB] on the [Playback] tab.
* This cannot be used simultaneously with the ASIO driver.

Mac OS
In [Select a device for sound output] on the [Output] tab in [Sound] of [System Preferences], select [DDJ-RB] from the sound devices. DDJ-RB's input channel can be changed by selecting [DDJ-RB] in [Audio MIDI Settings] of [Applications] > [Utilities] and then using the [Configure speakers...] dialog box.

Q9 The sampler sound cannot be monitored with the headphones.: A9

The sampler sound can be monitored with the headphones by operation in rekordbox.
