- Q1 What is the maximum capacity of USB memory device or USB hard disk that may be used?

As long as it supports FAT32 and HFS+, there are no capacity restrictions.

It indicates a USB device type of mass memory. Mass storage class is a standard that prescribes hard disks, memory cards and other mass storage devices connected to a USB port on a computer.

It cannot display folders containing 10000 folders. Folders that contain 10000 or more files cannot be opened.

They are played back in ASCII code order. Usually, in the following order: (1) file name figures, (2) alphabetic upper case characters and (3) alphabetic lower case characters. Playback order is determined by file name (not ID tags).

It takes time when the folder hierarchy is deep or when folders contain many files. It also takes time when there are files other than music files, so it is a good idea to keep non-music files in different folders.

If a USB hub is not used for branching and the hard drive meets the MEP-7000 specifications (500 mA or less), it is possible. If a hub is used, see hub specifications.

(1) The power consumption of your USB storage device may be high (a USB device with a power rating in excess of that allowed for USB devices will cause the center display of the device to display a caution). Use USB devices with a rating of 500 mA or less for this device.
(2) The format of the drive is not correct. Format drives using the FAT16, FAT32 and HFS+ formats.
(3) It does not support the GUID partition map of the MAC OS standard format.
(4) A USB formatted using Mac extended format that distinguishes between upper and lower case charactersNet Number : 85 - Q9 Cue and loop points of songs cannot be stored on a USB memory device or USB hard disk.

There are two reasons why this may not be possible, check your USB memory device or USB hard disk for the following.
① There is not enough free space left on the USB memory device or USB hard disk.

We recommend use of the FAT32 format.

Some songs can only be played back when the utility language for files and Japanese file names under a Japanese language directory is set to Japanese.

Some comparatively small flash memory devices may not have a partition table. The MEP-7000 does not support such memory devices since it cannot recognize memory file systems without a partition table. Use your operating system to create a partition.

Use scan disk on the computer to check the USB memory device or USB hard disk. The file system may be corrupted.

We cannot guarantee that a connected iPod will work.
