FAQ
- Q1 What is your best recommendation for a DJ system to use in combination with this unit?
-
A1
We recommend sets combining the CDJ-2000NXS2* and DJM-900NXS2.
By making a PRO DJ LINK connection through a LAN switching hub as the third or fourth player, the sequencer on this unit can be synchronized to beat timing analyzed or edited in rekordbox for performance.
*We recommend updating the CDJ-2000NXS2 to the latest firmware before connecting.Net Number : 5 - Q2 Are there terminals that support the balanced type?
-
A2
No, there are not.
Net Number : 6 - Q3 When connecting to a LAN, what kind of LAN hub should I use?
-
A3
Use a commercially available switching hub that supports 100BASE-TX. Correct operation may not be possible depending on the switching hub.
Net Number : 7 - Q4 What is the specification of the LAN terminal? What kind of cable should I prepare?
-
A4
The specification of the LAN terminal is 100BASE-TX.
Use a commercially available shielded cable of category class 5 for the LAN cable. Correct operation may not be possible depending on the LAN cable.Furthermore, when connecting with one of our DJ players or DJ systems, we recommend using the LAN cable supplied with this unit or the LAN cable supplied with our DJ player. Please note that the LAN terminal of this unit is a Pioneer DJ dedicated interface so a LAN connection with another manufacturer’s DJ player is not possible.

-
A5
Yes, it is possible.
Net Number : 9 - Q6 Does this product support the direct input of a microphone?

Net Number : 10 - Q7 What signals flow through a LAN cable connected between this product and a CDJ?

Internet access is not required to use this unit.

A10
Pioneer DJ does not plan to sell a rack mount kit specifically for this unit (as of April 2016). If you are considering rack mount installation, you will need to, for example, ask a rack manufacturer to perform the work.
Net Number : 14 - Q11 I connected this unit and a CDJ with a LAN cable because I wish to use the PRO DJ LINK function. Do I also need to connect an audio cable?
-
A11
An audio cable needs to be connected if you wish to input the audio of the CDJ to this unit. An RCA to PHONE converter cable or converter plug is required because the CDJ has RCA terminals (unbalanced) and this unit has a PHONE terminal (unbalanced).

Net Number : 47 - Q16 Can I input sound from a smartphone or portable music player?
-
A16
You can use a Y-cable (with two stereo mini phone jacks) to input sound from these sources. Since output from smartphones or portable music players is generally low, turn the volume on the source device up, and then turn up the LEVEL knob beside the INPUT terminal on this unit, keeping the volume within a range that does not distort the sound.
Net Number : 48 - Q17 How should I use the 8 output terminals?
-
A17
You can set whether to use the M+6CH mode or the 8CH mode from the OUTPUT SETTING screen.
In M+6CH mode, you can set the output terminal for each track while monitoring the master sound. This is convenient when recording a specific track, or sending a specific track to a separate output device.
In 8CH mode, all tracks can be output from each of 8 outputs. This is useful when recording the maximum of 4 stem mixes while maintaining the total mix balance, or when splitting rhythm sound into 8 monaural signals for output.Net Number : 49 - Q18 Can I write project files to a USB memory?
