- Q1 I would like to control a MIDI-compatible DJ software application...

This unit can be used as a MIDI controller by connecting it to a computer by USB. This unit’s MIDI assignment map cannot be changed, so make the MIDI mappings on your DJ software in function of this unit.
Note, however, that when using Windows XP, if another USB-MIDI device is connected simultaneously to the computer, this unit may not operate or be recognized properly. Only connect the computer and this unit.

The RMX-1000 operates with the operating system’s standard driver, so there is no need to install a special driver (this applies for both Mac OS and Windows computers).
When using Windows XP, however, when connected to a computer simultaneously with another USB-MIDI device, the RMX-1000 may not operate or be recognized properly. Only connect the RMX-1000 to the computer.
Net Number : 2 - Q3 Does remixbox need to be installed by the computer administrator?

Yes. Authorization of the computer administrator is required to install and uninstall remixbox.
Log in as the computer administrator before installing or uninstalling.Net Number : 3 - Q4 The message [You must input the administrator’s name and password] appears and the driver cannot be installed. (For Mac OS)

Yes. First uninstall the currently installed version of remixbox, then install the old version.
The uninstallation procedure is described below.
For a Mac OS computer:
Move the remixbox folder to the Trash.For a Windows computer:
From the [Start] menu, select “Uninstall remixbox” at [All Programs] , [Pioneer] , [remixbox1.x.x].

For a Mac OS computer, the CD drive opens on the screen. Double-click the [CD_menu.app] icon.

The AC power adapter supports input voltages of 100V to 240V, but the included AC cord differs according to the country in which the unit is sold, so use it in the country in which you purchased the unit.

By connecting this unit’s audio outputs to the external analog inputs of a regular amplifier, mini-component, powered speakers, etc., the sound can be produced from the respective speakers.

Yes. Click [Cancel] to stop the installation procedure.

Yes. By storing the customized parameter data and sampled sound source created with remixbox on the Mac OS computer onto an SD card, the data can be used with remixbox in Windows. The opposite is also possible.

There is no problem. When the SD card is removed while sampled sound sources on the SD card are being used, the program switches to the default sound sources (KICK, SNARE, CLAP and HI HAT). Also, when the SD card is removed while effect parameters on the SD card are being used, the program switches to the RMX-1000’s [USER] mode parameters.
The data may be damaged if the SD card is removed while customized parameter data is being stored on it, but the data is not damaged if the SD card is removed or inserted during playback.
Net Number : 23 - Q18 Is it OK to remove the SD card while using the [USER] mode?

There is no problem removing the SD card during playback. For the effects, the program operates using the parameters stored on the RMX-1000 for the [USER] mode. For the samples, the default sound sources (KICK, SNARE, CLAP and HI HAT) are used.
The [USER] mode set upon shipment from the factory has the same parameters as the [DEFAULT] mode.
When using the remixbox’s SYNC function, the customized parameter data set with remixbox is loaded into the RMX-1000 and these parameters are reflected in the [USER] mode.The data may be damaged if the SD card is removed while customized parameter data is being stored on it, but the data is not damaged if the SD card is removed during playback.

A separate audio interface is necessary for anything other than editing effect parameters with remixbox.

Yes.
Also, parameters customized with remixbox and sample sounds can be stored on SD memory cards, so DJs can set the permanently installed unit to their preferences. Furthermore, when this unit’s SETTING selector switch is set to DEFAULT, the effect parameters are restored to the factory defaults, so the unit can be used with peace of mind.Net Number : 35 - Q24 I would like to connect DJ software to this unit. Should the USB cable be connected and the DJ software launched in a specific order? Can either be done first?

If this unit is connected after the DJ software is launched, the DJ software may not recognize this unit. Launch the DJ software after connecting.

For CONNECTION: +4 dB, the output is 2 Vrms when the master level indicator is at about 7 dB (there is no scale).

The remixbox is supported on Windows and Mac OS.
For details, see the compatibility information on the Pioneer DJ support page.There are known issues with Windows Vista and Windows 7 (before SP1), so operation may not be normal. For Windows 7, update Windows to apply SP1.
For Windows Vista, apply the fix program provided by Microsoft.
The user is responsible for program updating.
